JD Moran is a member of IATSE USA Local 829, the Set Decorators Society of America, and the Television Academy.

JD focuses on narrative storytelling through visual elements to translate conceptual work into a final capture. His project expertise is managing a range of budgets while maximizing resources from vendors and artisans, as well as crewing up highly-skilled diverse teams of creatives who share the same passions. From period pieces to contemporary stories, JD threads historical research with life experience to bring real life layers to sets.

I’ve worked passionately and sustainably with dogs, cats, cars, makeup, jewelry, luxury items, tech, sports, weapons, and have made it rain and snow on set. I’ve designed countless graphic props including newspapers, signage, bills, labels, stocks, and checks that’ll have your banker doing a double take.

Production Design and Set Decoration for Short Film Productions. Notable credits include the Oscar-qualified short “Americanized” (2021) directed by Erica Eng, and “Half Day” (2022) directed by Morgan Mathews.
