I'm a queer Chicano-Boricua who is passionate about telling the stories of LGBTQIA+ communities, racial justice issues, and facilitating dialogue for change.
After completing my BFA in Production Design for Film & TV, I chased after a bicoastal career in film and television between my native San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.
I began my career coordinating productions, events, and personal lives of artists in film, tv, and Broadway. Alternating between The Anna Deavere Smith Projects, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, The Juilliard School's Creativity Labs, NBCUniversal's Short Film Fest, and Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, I coordinated for artists such as Alan Cumming, Sienna Miller, Amanda Palmer, Lance Horne, Justin Vivian Bond, and more.
Since 2012, I have worked in various roles within art departments, set decoration, and props to communicate stories visually from soup to nuts. Within film, music video, commercial, and editorial production, my projects have been featured at Sundance, SXSW, Cannes, Cinequest, TIDE, SFFILM, NY Fringe, and more. My television and streaming projects can be seen on AppleTV+, Amazon Prime, Disney+, FX, HBOMax, Hulu, NBC, Netflix, and Peacock.
When I’m not working on a film or television project, I’m working as an interior decoration consultant on projects from California to Arkansas to New York, or exploring nature with my Shetland Sheepdog, Guapo.
As a set decorator, I find my inspirations through life experience and thorough research. Every texture, color, drape, and light as part of the story. No details are forgotten as an assistant and buyer. With a full rolodex of vendors in the Tri-State area and the Bay Area, I bring in the finest soft goods, furniture, and smalls for every budget. From street vendors and car chase scenes in Transformers, to hospitals and Bronx apartments in Birth/Rebirth and Angelfish, to police precincts in The Calling, to waspy and grand homes throughout multiple periods in The Watcher, to chic Gramercy apartments in Uncoupled, and back through time in New York City’s queer Ballroom scene in Pose. I use drafting and photoshop techniques to present options, ideas, and mock-ups in pre-production to maximize the budget and assure visual communication of the design.
